USM Athletic Director Al Bean was quoted in Steve Solloway’s October 19 Portland Press Herald article, “It’s Time to Shrug Off the Shake.”

USM School of Nursing and The Environmental Health Trust hosted a conference on the link between cell phone use and certain cancers.  The conference was featured in an October 17 MPBN story, “Maine Conference Explores Link Between Cell Phones and Cancer.”  The conference was also mentioned on WMTW-TV Channel 8, on WGME-TV Channel 13 (no links available), in Digital Journal Online and in the October 20 Bangor Daily News.

USM’s community radio station, WMPG, has expanded its broadcasting reach with an addition of a new transmitter and antenna.  Read the October 13 Portland Phoenix article to learn more about the expansion.

USM student Jacob Lowry was quoted in an October 11 Forecaster story about the movement’s recent General Assembly.   Another USM student was quoted in an OccupyMaine story on October 11 in Bloomberg Businessweek.

On October 9, the Portland Press Herald ran a review of James Strickland’s exhibit, “James Strickland, Waypoints,” which was available for viewing at USM Lewiston Auburn College’s Atrium Gallery.
