Many teens, and even young children, will receive cell phones as holiday gifts this year. These cell phones will be given by parents who want to ensure their children’s safety and improve family communication. On December 16, Cambridge Who’s Who announced that LAC part-time faculty member Laurie J. Cyr-Martel was named to Cambridge Who’s Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in psychology and counseling services. Cyr-Martell is also manager of Crisis Services at Tri-County Mental Health Services.
In a December 15 article, The Times Record reported that Muskie Professor Charlie Colgan told a panel of Gov. John Baldacci’s advisors that the Brunswick Naval Air Station property will likely become home to between 2,000 and 3,000 jobs within the next 20 years. Also, job counts across the state won’t return to pre-recession levels until 2014.
