USM OLLI Offers Expanding Horizons Scholarships

The University of Southern Maine Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) recently established a pilot scholarship program, the Expanding Horizons Scholarship Program. OLLI set aside $10,000 to fund scholarships of $500 each to be awarded to holders of bachelor degrees of any age taking a graduate course at USM for the first time and are not enrolled (matriculated) in a graduate program.

“Establishing this scholarship aligns perfectly with OLLI’s mission of providing lifelong learning opportunities for Mainers,” said OLLI Executive Director Kali Lightfoot. “By providing tuition assistance for their first graduate course, scholarship recipients can take a class just for the joy of learning something new, or continue and achieve an advanced degree.”

For more information about applying for the Expanding Horizons Scholarship Program, call Amy Gieseke at 780-5921 or visit www.usm.maine.edu/grad/fall09.
