The University of Southern Maine will be hosting the exhibition, “2010 Book Arts at Stone House Program,” showcasing the work of students who participated in USM’s Book Arts Program this summer. The exhibition will run from Wednesday, September 8 through Sunday, October 31 on the 6th floor of the Glickman Family Library, located on USM’s Portland campus.  The exhibition is free and open to the public during library hours: 7:45 a.m.-11 p.m., Mondays-Thursdays; 7:45 a.m.-8 p.m., Fridays; 10 a.m.-8 p.m., Saturdays’ and 10 a.m.-11 p.m., Sundays.

On Wednesday, September 29, there will be a panel discussion, “Bringing a Book Project to the Printer,” from 4-5 p.m. in the University Events Room on the 7th floor of Glickman Family Library followed by an exhibition reception from 5-6 p.m. on the 6th floor of the Library.  The panel discussion will feature artists Michael Connor, Bessie Smith Moulton, and USM Art Department Chair Jan Piribeck, who will discuss their involvement with limited edition artist’s books.
