Vote! Student Government Elections Run through Thursday, March 18

sgalogo.JPGUSM students can vote this week to elect the Student Body President and Student Senators for the 2010-2011 academic year. Voting takes place online and you can vote until 11:59 p.m., Thursday, March 18 at http://www.usm.maine.edu/studentlife/vote10/ Don’t miss the opportunity to weigh in on the referendum question about online courses.

The responsibility of student government is to represent the voice of students in the University structure by coordinating and fostering student activities.

The Student Senate manages USM’s Student Activity Fee, which provides roughly $500,000 in funds to student groups each year. Over the past year, the Senate also has worked closely with USM faculty, staff, and administrators throughout the University restructuring process.

Vote now to elect your representatives for the 2010-2011 academic year.
