“The Humble Farmer” Returns to WMPG
November 20, 2009
WMPG Community Radio station has welcomed to its air “The Humble Farmer.” After a two-year hiatus from Maine’s airwaves, “Humble” – also known as Robert Skoglund – returns to radio on Tuesday afternoons from 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. on WMPG.
Skoglund is known around Maine and elsewhere as the radio host that spins a variety of classic jazz interspersed with Maine humor and musings about the ironies of life. His commentary is the favorite part of “The Humble Farmer” show for many listeners; other fans appreciate the rarely-heard jazz tunes he selects for his show.
WMPG Program Director Dave Bunker reflects on the importance of “Humble’s” presence on southern Maine’s Community Radio station, “Humble has an authentic and unique voice, and a long history on Maine radio and he makes me laugh!”
WMPG broadcasts from its home at the University of Southern Maine at 90.9 and 104.1 FM, and streams live at wmpg.org. Volunteer programmers are the DJs and hosts whose voices are heard on WMPG, where the airwaves belong to the community. For more information about “Humble,”
