Alabama Booksellers Lecture at USM

The owners of Vamp and Tramp Booksellers of Birmingham, Alabama, Bill and Vicky Stewart, will present the next Kate Cheney Chappell ’83 Center for Book Arts lecture at the University of Southern Maine.  Their lecture, “Artists’ Books: When the Goblet Becomes the Wine,” will take place from 2-4 p.m., Saturday, November 7, in the University Events Room of USM’s Glickman Family Library, Portland. This free talk will include eight tables of artists’ books from America, Canada, and Europe.

Vamp and Tramp Booksellers represent several Maine book artists, including Bessie Moulton of Falmouth, Allison Cooke Brown of Yarmouth, George Benninton of South Portland, and Rebecca Goodale of Portland.

The Stewarts asked that their honorarium and money used to reimburse them for travel and lodging be used instead to allow four full-time USM students to attend a Center for Book Arts workshop this semester.
